Tech Talks 2: İrem Ergün, Cohere AI
We recently had the pleasure of hosting Irem Ergun, a Bilkent University alumna and researcher at Cohere AI, for an enlightening online conversation. During the event, Irem shared invaluable insights from her time at Bilkent, her PhD application process, and the journey in her doctoral studies. She also discussed her experiences with job interviews and her impactful work at Cohere AI.
Irem is currently involved in the Aya project at Cohere AI, an initiative aimed at bridging linguistic gaps in AI technologies by creating inclusive tools for languages globally underserved by current models.
To fellow Bilkenters, Irem suggested the importance of staying curious, continuously learning, and being open to new opportunities in both academia and the industry.
We are profoundly grateful to Irem for her participation and for sharing her journey and advice with us. Her experiences and achievements are an inspiration to our community.
